A fairly well formed zircon crystal is nicely exposed in dark red fluorapatite matrix. Another, smaller crystal is poking out, just below it. Notice the radial fracturing around the zircon, in the feldspar resulting from radiation emitted by the slightly radioactive zircon crystal, over hundreds of millions of years? Another crystal on the bottom! Classic Grenville!
