This specimen displays numerous cavities full of well formed, lustrous, root-beer brown vesuvianite crystals and black amphibole. A very nice specimen from its type locality, named after the famous Mt. Vesuvius which erupted in 79 AD, burying Pompeii. These alpine Italian beauties are amongst the finest and most highly sought after examples of the species.
