This specimen consists of two vugs full of well formed light brown lustrous vesuvianite crystals on amphibole matrix. Some bigger amphibole crystals can be seen on its reverse. A classic specimen from its type locality, named after the famous Mt. Vesuvius which erupted in 79 AD, burying Pompeii.
