A sharp, pitch-black, spinel crystal is perfectly exposed in this matrix of calcite and forsterite crystal sections. The spinel crystal shows excellent octahedral and dodecahedral crystal forms and is exposed on both sides of the piece. There are lots of smaller spinel crystals on both sides of the piece. Nice example!
