A MONSTER specimen of rhodochrosite from this amazing old, now closed silver mine. The piece is solid rhodochrosite showing banding and excellent pink-red colouration. Could be a spectacular center-piece for a mineral display or used as jewelry grade rhodochrosite for many nice pieces. The back is not pretty but you can see the banding through the beige colouration of the thin, carbonate deposited there, which attests to the solid nature of the rhodochrosite. Spectacular!
