RTD A cluster of the peculiar habit of quartz, known as a "faden". Fadens happen when quartz grains act as seed crystals on the sides of exer expanding alpine clefts, while quartz continually crystallizes on them over time. Very good example showing the faden inclusions down the middle of the quartz crystals.
