This is a lovely specimen of blue, botryoidal plumbogummite. It forms after or on pyromorphite, some of which can be seen on side of the specimen. Plumbogummite is a rare lead phosphate and forms in the oxidation zones of lead deposits. The Yangshuo Mine in China has produced many of the most attractive and important plumbogummite specimens ever found.

The "plumbo" portion of this mineral's name is derived from the latin word for ball of lead, "plumbum". "Gummi" comes from the gum like appearance that the mineral often displays.
