Here is a nice specimen from an old mercury-rich part of Nevada! This matrix is fairly sheared up, tortured rock with the top of it richly endowed with red cinnabar. There is a wide shallow cavity in the cinnabar that is lined with liquid mercury either totally coating the cinnabar or in droplets. Rich example of this native element!
