Thick, large crystals of hematite are squished togetherin and on this quartz matrix. This was ore-grade material from the very large mine at Lac Jeanine, on of the original iron ore mines of the Labrador Iron Trough. Look it up! Very interesting! Old geologist label affixed to the specimen indicates it was collected in 1967.
