This is a solid piece of copper, totally consisting of copper crystals. It has excellent luster with the original patina. It is an oldy from one of the original fissure veins of the Keweenaw Peninsula. It is in the "Killer" category! Catalogue # indicates that it is from the Frederick Smith Collection. Smith was a prominent collector in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
