Calcite

Here's a nice cabinet specimen of pale yellow calcite, from the Grant Quarry, in Gloucester. The crystals are hexagonal prisms with very short pointed terminations. The quarry is part of the Beekmantown Formation that shows up at several locations, From Saratoga Springs NY, through Herkimer NY, St-Clothilde Quebec, St-Eustache Quebec to Greely Ontario.
