This specimen shows one large (30mm) calcite globule with a matte light-brown surface surrounded by many mini "globs", on basalt. The specimen is from a classic old location, Montalto di Castro, 90km from Rome. These have been scarce since many were made available in the 1980's. TheĀ specimen has a mark on it's side but remains great example of this type of botryoidal calcite.
