I've seen these types of multi-generational calcite crystals from Mexico many times, but cannot say the exact locality. This one shows a primary, hematite-tinted scalenohderon that has grown in parallel growth to a colourless, clear part of a crystal. As well, the back of the scalenohedron is covered with tiny calcite crystals. Sharp-looking example! s
