All political problems aside, there are some GREAT minerals that originate in Russia. This is a particularly excellent example of axinite from this famous mining area. It is composed, mostly, of axinite, with a light dusting of pyrite, in places, and associated with small amounts of a white mineral, perhaps calcite or prehnite. The axinite-Mn is the star of this specimen in long, wedge-shaped, razor-sharp, terminated crystals. Really is an excellent, good-looking specimen of this mineral.
