This is NOT a spectacular specimen but it is an old specimen from the largest copper -producing Mine in the world. The Chuquicamata Mine was originally developed by the Anaconda Mining Company and eventually nationalized by the Chilean government into their copper mining company called Codelco. According to the geologist label affixed to this specimen, it was collected way back in 1962, when the mine was still run by Anaconda! If you are interested in mining history...
