Another zeolite that occurs in the Bay of Fundy area is Heulandite. It occurs often with a number of the othe rzeolites. Here are some very nice examples.

  • The top of this basalt matrix is covered by heulandite crystals both large and small, along with some sharp, bladed stilbite crystals. The heulandite crystals are curved, sharp, pearly, lustrous crystals. Classic zeolite from a classic zeolite area!

  • This mesh of quartz as rough crystals (siliceous sinter) has many silvery-pearly curved heulandite crystals in recesses. Looks great! Displays well when stood up.

  • This little plate of orangey heulandite crystals is sprinkled with small crystals of laumontite. Usually, laumontite decrepitates away. I think these crystals have held together well, since they are so small.
