Mont Saint-Hilaire is famous for many minerals. The well formed epididymite crystals are particularly good from there! Here are some excellent examples of this rare sodium-beryllium silicate.

  • Several, sharp, reticulated-twinned, epididymite crystals are on the top of this matrix of interlocking albite crystals. As well , there are loads of clusters of sharp, colourless to light mauve ancylite crystals here and there on the albite. Lots to look at!

  • A cluster of two very sharp epididymite crystals. The crystals appear, on the sides to be hexagonal prisms but when you look at the "terminations", it is apparent that they are reticulated twins. Beautiful example of this beryllium mineral.
