Here are some specimens of two rare minerals from the type locality area in Japan! The kimuraite is silky/platy radiating masses in seams in basalt while the lanthanite is thin-tabular, well formed crystals. Rare!

  • Platy-pearly aggregates of kimuraite crystals fill this opening in basalt. At one end of the platy aggregates is an open area with botryoidal groups of bladed micro kimuraite crystals. Superb!
