Mont Saint-Hilaire, Rhodochrosite

There are many minerals that crystallize well at Mont Saint-Hilaire. One of them is rhodochrosite which occurs in a number of crystal habits, particularly in the pegmatite dykes. Here are some nice examples!

  • An interesting example of the sort of twinning that rhodochrosite often shows at MSH. It is composed of several triangular-twinned members with nice lustre and beveled faces. A bit of aegirine and tiny albite crystals scattered around.
