Pyromorphite, Society Girl Mine, Moyie, British Columbia
The Society Girl Mine was a small lead-Zinc Mine operated in the early 20th century, according to mindat.org. Veins outcropped on surface and a couple of specimen recovery operations in the 70's recovered some nice specimens, the best pyromorphite specimens ever collected in Canada. The specimens were from one such in-situ collecting project. Specimens have also been recovered from the mine dumps but they tend to be highly abraded and broken. These are very nice small specimens, mostly affixed to acrylic bases for excellent handling and display. Hard to come by!
