Morocco, Vanadinite, Mibladen, Tafilalet

Morocco is famous for well crystallized secondary minerals. One of it's most famous occurences is the vanadinite occurrence at Mibladen. The crystals are lustrous, various shades of deep orange, red and combinations. It is an ore of vanadium as well as lead and precious metals that are often associated. Great specimens of this lead, vanadium, chlorine mineral.

  • Here is a nice cluster of toffee coloured vanadinite crystals featuring a very unusual growth habit. The
crystals show a “sandwich” configuration of an earlier growth crystal overgrown by caps of lighter
coloured, more lustrous vanadinite. The resultant crystals are reminiscent of a sandwich. DD
