Silver, in Nipissing DiabaseSilver, in Nipissing Diabase

Item number: 28147

This was a veinlet of silver cutting through very coarse diabase. It has been split to reveal the silver that is now a "plate" and has the impressions of the feldspar and amphibole crystals imprinted in the silver. The Nipissing Diabase is considered to be related to the genesis of the silver deposits at Cobalt, somehow. Interesting piece!
