These specimens from the Gibraltar Mine are not world beaters but they are unusual specimens from a giant, long-running porphyry copper mine in southern British Columbia. The ore is mostly chalcopyrite and molybdenite with very little secondary mineralization. I collected these specimens from a small zone where the sulphides seemed to be reduced to the native metal. The specimens appear as a white quartz-native copper breccia with copper and cuprite crystals in interstices. Interesting!
