Lots of small, well formed, stout crystals of millerite are scattered over the surface of this grossular-diopside matrix, being exposed after some of the calcite was etched away. The millerite crystals are very well formed, many terminated and nicely striated. The face of the specimen is covered with tiny green grossular crystals and black poorly formed chromite crystals. There are also well formed prismatic, light green diopside crystals to 2mm or so. This was Canada's and perhaps North Americas first Nickel Mine! s
