David K. Joyce Minerals

Mont Saint-Hilaire, Berthierine

Excellent specimens of this unusual mineral. They are sharp pseudo-hexagonal crystals with "sandwich"-like zoning parallel to the "c" face. Look very much like donnayite!

  • Lots of very nice micro crystals of berthierine are present in open spaces on this specimen. The crystals are strongly zoned and many have epitactic overgrowths of, presumably, smaller berthierine crystals on the terminations. Very nice1
