David K. Joyce Minerals

Jeffrey Mine, Asbestos, Quebec, Vesuvianite

If the Jeffrey Mine is famous for any mineral, a contender for favourite must be the lustrous groups of vesuvianite found there. In particular, the normally green, vesuvianite tinted mauve/purple by manganese is sought by collectors and institutions around the world because of its intense colour which results in dramatic eye-candy. The colour, coupled with the extremely well developed crystals make for highly desireable specimens. Here are some excellent examples of that mineral from this world famous locality.
