Stokesite, Stannomicrolite (of Hogarth, 1977). Urucum Mine, Galileia, Doce Valley, Minas Gerais, Brazil

The pegmatite locations of Brazil are famous for rare and unusual minerals as well as amazing tourmaline, aquamarine and brazilianite crystals. Here are some interesting associated minerals that occur in rounded aggregates at the Urucum Mine pegmatite. The specimens are all spherical aggregates of crystals of stokesite crystals. Most have some amount of white bladed albite or dark crystals of lepidolite and black prisms of tourmaline. Some have yellow-orange stannomicrolite crystals, some rounded fractured aggregates, some very well formed octahedral of this rare mineral. Some of the photo's have a pinkish tinge which is false and due to my photographic set-up. The specimens are all white and shades of gray with colour only added by the stannomicrolite. Unusual and rare!
