  • A mound of silvery-grey tetrahedrite crystals on a matrix of massive sphalerite. The tetrahedrite crystals are intergrown with sharp, colourless quartz crystals. Most of the tetrahedrites are around 5-6mm in size except for one relatively large 28mm on-edge crystal at one side of the specimen and one 17mm crystal on the right. Shows well.

  • Tetrahedrite crystals totally cover the top of this matrix of chalcopyrite and pyrite. The tetrahedrite shows vicinal facescomposed of tri-tetrahedral faces and the crystals are SO lustrous, it makes it very difficult to capture them in a photo. These are very nice crystals!

  • This plate of crystals features very sharp, lustrous tetrahedrite crystals up to 12mm or so across plus rounded, dark golden chalcopyrite crystals to 4mm or so. A couple of clusters of colourless quartz crystals is a nice touch. Looks great!

  • Great looking example of this mineral. A stack of sharp tetrahedra of tetrahedrite piled up on quartz and sphalerite crystals. Very slight bruising. The tetrahedrite crystals have, in places, a slight veneer of chalcopyrite. Looks great-displays well.

  • What a great-looking specimen! Very lightly pink-tinted calcite is draped over what appears to be a large, twinned crystal of dark brown sphalerite. The calcite crystals are sort of small groups of divergent, pointy crystals. Sits perfectly for display!

  • Here is a larger specimen of tetrahedrite from the Casapalca Mine, one of the premier tetrahedrite localities. These crystals have very good lustre and are well formed showing tetraheron and, I think, tristetrahedron. The piece is like a vertical plate of crystals coated on one side by siderite or brownish calcite. Very nice specimen. Displays perfectly!

  • A thick plate of lustrous tetrahedrite crystals associated with clear, colourless, long-prismatic quartz crystals and some milky-white calcite scalenohedra, all on massive sphalerite that pokes through here and there. A little abrasion here and there but still a very nice specimen! R
