Sphalerite, Elmwood Mine, Smith Co., Tennessee, USA

The Elmwood mine is now a famous locality of sphalerite, fluorite, barite, dolomite, etc. The sphalerite from this locality occurs in lustrous, complexly twinned crystals, often on dolomite, sometimes associated with fluorite. The specimens that I have here are all excellent specimens of lustrous, brown sphalerite, often with reddish internal reflections. All show well.
